NIOS TMA Upload Deadline Listed as 31 August 2026
NIOS learners preparing for the October-November 2026 public exams should check their TMA status now. The NIOS Regional Centre Dehradun notice page currently lists 31 August 2026 as the last date for uploading Tutor Marked Assignments. This is mainly relevant to Stream 1 learners of Secondary and Senior Secondary courses whose admission and subjects are connected with the October-November examination cycle. Verify the deadline on the official portal before submitting, because the notice is displayed by a regional centre rather than as a clearly dated nationwide circular on the central notifications page.
## TMA ki last date kya hai?
The date currently shown in the official regional-centre student updates is 31 August 2026. Treat 31 August 2026 as the working deadline and do not wait until the final evening. Uploading early gives you time to correct a wrong subject file, a failed upload, or a portal problem.
This is an important change from the ordinary TMA calendar many learners remember. NIOS’s older TMA guidance commonly showed 31 July as the submission date for learners appearing in October-November public examinations. The current regional update therefore appears to provide an additional extension up to 31 August 2026. We have not found a separate dated headquarters circular on the central SDMIS notification page confirming whether this extension is intended for every regional centre. For that reason, learners should check the latest notice or learner update published by their own NIOS Regional Centre as well as the student portal.
## Kaun TMA upload karega?
TMA is for Stream 1 learners. It is not a general assignment requirement for every NIOS stream. Stream 2 and Stream 3 learners are part-admission candidates who came through a different route, usually after failing or being absent in another board examination. Their rules should not be mixed with Stream 1 TMA instructions.
For eligible Stream 1 learners, TMA contributes to the assessment and is connected with the relevant public-examination cycle. The official NIOS TMA guidance says learners must download the assignment for their course and subject, complete it themselves, and submit it through the prescribed NIOS process. Do not upload copied answers, purchased solved assignments, or another student’s work. Using someone else’s material can create an unfair-means problem and may affect the result.
## Ab mujhe kya karna chahiye?
1. Log in to the official student portal at sdmis.nios.ac.in. 2. Open the TMA or assignment section and check the subjects shown for your enrolment number. 3. Download the correct assignment for your class, subject, session and language. 4. Complete the work in your own handwriting or in the format specified on the portal. 5. Scan or photograph the pages clearly and combine them into the required PDF file. 6. Upload each subject separately before 31 August 2026. 7. Save the acknowledgement, screenshot, file name and upload date. Keep the original assignment pages safely.
If your study centre tells you to submit a physical copy as well, ask for a receipt. The online upload record and the physical-submission receipt are different proofs, so keep both where applicable.
## Upload nahi kiya toh kya hoga?
Missing TMA does not automatically mean that the entire NIOS examination result will be cancelled. However, you may lose the marks linked to the assignment, which can reduce your total score. A late upload may also fail if the portal closes, and NIOS may not accept a replacement or second upload for the same cycle. Do not assume that a study centre, agent or private tutor can upload it after the deadline.
If the portal shows the wrong subject, does not display the TMA option, or rejects a valid PDF, take screenshots showing the date and error. Use the official NIOS help or grievance route and contact your Regional Centre promptly. Do not send your login password or OTP to an agent.
### Official rule
Rule: Eligible Stream 1 learners appearing in the October-November 2026 cycle should upload their TMA through the official NIOS process by the date currently listed by the Regional Centre Dehradun: 31 August 2026. Source: NIOS Regional Centre Dehradun notification page. Verified: 14 August 2026.
For the general TMA process and assignment instructions, see the official NIOS TMA guidance PDF. The PDF is older, so use the current portal and regional notice for the 2026 deadline.
