NIOS Transfer of Credit (TOC): Carry Forward Passed Subjects
Transfer of Credit (TOC) lets you carry forward subjects you have already passed in another recognised board (CBSE, ICSE or a state board) when you take NIOS admission — so you appear only for the remaining subjects and do not repeat an entire year.
How to use Transfer of Credit
- Keep your previous marksheet ready — You need proof that you passed the subjects you want to carry forward.
- Choose TOC during admission — Indicate the subjects to transfer when you take NIOS admission on the student portal.
- Appear only for the remaining subjects — Complete your remaining subjects through the public exam or On-Demand Exam route.
How many subjects can you carry forward?: Students can commonly carry forward up to two passed subjects, subject to the current rules. Confirm the latest TOC limits and eligibility on the official portal before applying.
